01. Reaching Where the Sewage Network Can't
"I want to open a B&B in the mountains of my hometown, but sewage disposal is a big problem." This is a pain point for many tourism entrepreneurs. Traditional buildings depend on access to municipal infrastructure, but the HAZO EcoHome breaks free from this limitation with its zero-discharge wastewater technology.
Developed by Huayu Low-Carbon, the HAZO SEWAGO is a mobile, above-ground all-in-one treatment unit, which packs the capabilities of a traditional 10-ton-per-day wastewater treatment plant into a modular unit under 3 m². The system enables a closed-loop cycle — treating sewage on-site, reusing it safely, and reducing discharge to near zero. When combined with the EcoHome's renewable energy and storage, this technology makes a truly off-grid, zero-carbon lifestyle possible.
While traditional buildings are limited to sewer networks, the HAZO EcoHome redefines the boundaries of freedom.

02. Advanced Wastewater Treatment Powered by AAO Technology
The HAZO SEWAGO unit transforms wastewater into a resource through its innovative black-grey water separation and AAO three-stage biological process.
First, black water (toilet sewage) is shredded before entering the anaerobic tank, where microorganisms break down large organic molecules into smaller ones. After that, the water flows into the aerobic tank, where an aeration system supplies oxygen to allow microorganisms to efficiently remove COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and ammonia nitrogen. Finally, the water passes through sand filtration and UV disinfection to ensure that the water exceeds national discharge standards.
Processing Capacity: Standard version treats 1 m³/day, meeting the daily needs of 4–6 people.
Water Quality Standards: COD ≤ 50 mg/L, ammonia nitrogen ≤ 5 mg/L, complying with both GB/T 18920-2020 and GB 18918-2002 standards.
Resource Recycling: 328 tons of water can be saved annually for flushing and irrigation — equivalent to 1.5 standard swimming pools.
03. Three Groundbreaking Innovations Transforming Mobile Living
1. Modular Design – From Headache to Plug & Play
Traditional sewage treatment systems require large footprints, excavation, and underground piping. The HAZO SEWAGO packs the same function into a compact, containerized unit — no digging, no piping, and ready to run within two hours after delivery. Occupying under 1 m² and weighing less than 2 tons, it can be lifted and moved with the EcoHome, solving wastewater challenges for campgrounds and remote sites. Compared with traditional sewer construction — which involves 30 days of labor — the HAZO system can be installed and operational the same day.
2. Enjoy a Hassle-Free Intelligent Operation System
Equipped with a built-in PLC intelligent control system, the unit automatically adjusts aeration intensity, sends SMS alerts for abnormal situation, and requires only two UV lamp replacements per year (about ¥150). Users can monitor real-time data and request service with a single tap via the mobile app.
– Automatic aeration control cuts energy use by 20–30%.
– Real-time monitoring of pH, DO, and turbidity with instant anomaly alerts.
– Quick-swap UV module can be changed in 3 minutes.
3. Zero-Carbon Achieved through Solar Energy Integration
In the HAZO EcoHome's energy ecosystem, the wastewater system works seamlessly with solar PV, battery storage, and smart energy management to form a closed-loop solution. With energy use as low as 1 kWh per m³, a single 300 W solar panel can power daily operations — achieving wastewater purification without drawing from the grid.
04. Aesthetics and Sustainability without Compromise
"The government won't allow any harm to the Alps environment, and getting approval for a traditional sewage network can take two years. Last year, right in the middle of tourist season, our plans to expand the guesthouse were completely stuck." — Harald, a HAZO EcoHome owner in Austria.
This situation changed early this year, when Harald met the team from HAZO EcoHome Europe. He learned that, along with modular building that met his needs, HAZO also offered an above-ground, all-in-one wastewater treatment unit, which allowed his 12-room mountain-view guesthouse to receive full approval and become operational in just 60 days — enabling him to host over 40% more guests this year.
This is not a single case. Customers from Yellowstone National Park, coffee farms in Hawaii, and Northern Lights camps in Norway have all traveled to see how HAZO's EcoHome and wastewater system are implemented worldwide. For many in the global lodging industry, this might be the compliance solution they've always been looking for.
HAZO Zero-Carbon Station (Changsha), EcoHome S2 Demo Project
The HAZO EcoHome S2 at this site has been operating steadily for over 180 days. This micro commercial complex — including a coffee bar, showers, and vending machines — treats about 1 ton of wastewater per day, of which 60% is used for toilet flushing, 30% for landscape irrigation, and the remaining 10% is discharged, with COD consistently below 40 mg/L — 20% better than the national standard.
Tangible savings in money, intangible freedom in living.
05. CE Marking - Three Key Advantages
1. Advanced Technology Meeting International Standards
The HAZO SEWAGO has achieved EU certification under EN ISO 12100:2010 and EN 60204-1:2018/A1:2025 for wastewater treatment equipment, making it the first Chinese modular mobile wastewater treatment system to enter the EU market.
2. Aesthetic Design in Harmony with Nature
With its sleek, minimalist, and elegant design, the unit fits seamlessly into any environment, from mountains to forests, oceansides to lakeshores. Users can enjoy undisturbed sleep thanks to noise isolation under 45 dB.
3. Performance Meets Sustainability
The HAZO SEWAGO eliminates the expenses that traditional municipal sewer networks incur. Daily electricity costs are under ¥1, and annual maintenance stays below ¥500. At a commercial water price of ¥5/ton, the system saves about ¥1,640 per year. Built with a body and shell of 100% recyclable aluminum, the unit lasts 50 years and is fully degradable.(All figures are based on China’s prices, with electricity calculated at the first-tier rate of ¥0.58/kWh.)
The HAZO EcoHome is redefining the relationship between humans and water resources. In the future, every HAZO EcoHome can function as a self-contained water cycle unit. From cities to wilderness, from tourist attractions to uninhabited zones, HAZO continues to drive a revolutionary shift in human habitation. True to its mission — "Create Eco-Living Homes for People Everywhere" — HAZO believes that breaking free from the constraints of sewage networks signals the start of a new era in global mobile living.
