Bamboo + Zero-Carbon Tech: The Secret to HAZO’s ‘Negative-Carbon’ Living

01. Bamboo as a Powerful “Natural Reader” — The Creative Vision Behind the HAZO EcoHome

“The HAZO EcoHome K1 is not just a modular home. It is a living, breathing space — a wellness retreat, a traveling sanctuary, and a prototype for future lifestyle habitats.”
Ms. Wang Hui, renowned spatial designer of the EcoHome K1

“The functional partitions of K1 depend on the structure but are never restricted by it. Every functional element and piece of furniture grows organically from the structure itself, creating a sense of minimalism, precision, and transparency. It’s flexible, fluid — and almost weightless.”

Today, while luxury consumption is cooling and many industries are seeking both vertical expansion and cross-segment innovation, the wellness lifestyle is no longer exclusive to aging populations. Younger generations are rapidly becoming key consumers of extreme wellness, sustainability, fashion-forward travel, and new living experiences.

This evolving trend represents a true convergence of HAZO and its users. That is why we embraced one of nature’s most powerful materials — bamboo.
Bamboo steel, bamboo fiber, bamboo nails, bamboo panels, bamboo strips — these elements form the design DNA of the K1.

02. The Bamboo Code: Four Technologies That Redefine What Bamboo Can Do

Parts of the main and auxiliary materials used in the HAZO EcoHome K1 come from Taohuajiang Bamboo Technology Co., Ltd., known for their “natural technology crystallization” series of eco-bamboo products.

Taohuajiang’s engineered bamboo is produced through a three-dimensional hot-pressing process, after stripping, carbonization at 200°C (removing sugars), and controlled drying. The result:
a re-engineered bamboo with a tensile strength of 201.6 MPa.

The adhesive used is a nano plant-based, formaldehyde-free glue, with emissions < 0.1 mg/m³ (E0 grade) — safe enough even for infants.

1. Stronger Than Steel — A Plant With Power

Through its proprietary high-carbon anti-corrosion technology, Taohuajiang increases bamboo density to 1.2 g/cm³ with a hardness of 32 HB (beechwood is 24 HB).
This gives HAZO’s bamboo flooring the strength to withstand 3-ton vehicle compression, yet it still feels warm and silky under bare feet.

2. A Natural “Smart Skin” That Regulates Humidity

Bamboo’s porous cellular structure naturally enhances indoor humidity regulation.
Real-world feedback from K1 users shows that bamboo floors, walls, and furniture significantly help reduce air-conditioning energy use.

3. Ecological Synergy — Bamboo Powers the Zero-Carbon System

In HAZO’s closed-loop energy ecosystem, Taohuajiang bamboo acts as a carbon mediator.

· Producing 1 ton of this bamboo emits only 30 kg of CO₂— 1/216 of steel and 1/19 of plastic.
· Every 1 m² of bamboo wall panel sequesters 12 kg of CO₂,equivalent to planting one tree
.

4. A Silent Guardian of Indoor Health

Bamboo naturally absorbs formaldehyde and releases up to 3,000 negative ions/cm³, quietly purifying indoor air.
Its bamboo-charcoal layer provides 25 dB of sound absorption — creating a library-level quiet environment.

HAZO proves that sustainability and high-quality living are not opposites — they are partners in design.

03. Material Revolution — When Bamboo Becomes a Super Material

Taohuajiang eco-bamboo gives the HAZO EcoHome K1 its natural soul and makes it part of everyday living.

When the first morning light pours through the floor-to-ceiling windows and dances across the bamboo floor, the texture feels almost silk-like beneath your feet. Even during the rainy season, the surface remains comfortably dry.

Inside this 50 m² modular space, bamboo appears as:
·flooring
·furniture
·wall panels
·outdoor decking
All blending seamlessly into the living experience.A Breathable “Eco Carpet”
Technical Core:
·Engineered bamboo flooring hot-pressed at 2,300 tons
·Density: 1.2 g/cm³
·Slip resistance: 0.8 (above national standard 0.5)
·Durability: 6,000 revolutions in EN13329 testing
·Water spills dry naturally within 2 hours
·No mold or odor

A Weather-Resistant “Outdoor Guardian”

Using the patented high-carbon anti-corrosion process, bamboo achieves EN350 Class 1 durability — suitable for direct contact with soil and water.
It withstands temperature cycles from -20°C to 60°C, with dimensional change < 0.3% and no cracking.

Products supplied for the Beijing Winter Olympics showed only 0.2 mm surface wear after 5 years.

A Mold-Resistant “Clean Space”

A nano-TiO₂ coating provides photocatalytic self-cleaning.
After continuous shower exposure, walls remain mold-free (Grade 0 — GB/T 24128-2009).
Cleaning costs are only one-third of tile surfaces, with no harsh chemicals needed.

A Lightweight “Space Magician”

Bamboo pocket-door cabinets support 80 kg/m².
The modular mortise-and-tenon structure allows fast installation.
After use, the material is 100% biodegradable, releasing 23% oxygen during the degradation process.

A building should appear to grow easily from its site and be shaped to harmonize with its surroundings.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s prophecy is coming alive in the bamboo grain of every HAZO EcoHome.

04. Cross-Industry Innovation: From HAZO Eco to Thousands of Living Scenarios

The material originates from Taohuajiang Mao Bamboo grown in Yiyang, Hunan — capable of growing 20 meters in 60 days.
Engineers transform it through seven major processing steps into a structural material that now shapes the HAZO EcoHome.

Through HAZO’s global distribution network, this material is poised to reach markets worldwide.
Suddenly, we understand:
This fastest-growing resource on Earth (matures in 3 years) is reshaping how humanity defines “sustainable.”

From the Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) to the Hainan rainforest villas, Taohuajiang bamboo has supported over 30 national-level projects, with applications expanding alongside the growing demand for quality living.

In the future, HAZO will continue exploring mobile modular zero-carbon housing, enhancing technologies and services, and partnering with more innovators to accelerate the global adoption of zero-carbon buildings — bringing green living to millions and lighting the path toward a sustainable planet.
